Since long before I was old enough to buy any firearms, I was studying up and drooling over old .22 rifles. Of greatest imterest were old American pump and lever action long guns, and especially any heavy barrel, single shot target rifles. I now have a few vintage .22s that I play with out in the forest, plinking inanimate targets (cans and such), and doing a little semi-serious target shooting. I don't hunt as I'm not hungry for squirrell, which is one of the few animals well matched to the .22's power and range. Besides, now that I'm older, I just don't feel like killing any critters. ^_^
Anyone else a fan of the coolest all-American cartridge, the venerable .22 rimfire?
